“After several months of shelved plans (and a rather weird setting-up process), we can finally declare, with a great big smile hidden behind our masks: ‘WE ARE OPEN!’
On 27 June, amid a plethora of sanitising gels, signage everywhere you can possibly think of, and a long list of new practices, we opened our doors on a season that we will all remember for as long as we live. But, however strange a reopening may be, there is one thing that never changes: our team’s enthusiasm for making all our guests feel at home. We will miss being able to give them a hug, in the way that you hug a family member arriving home after an absence of many months, but we’ve discovered that eyes do not only see: they also smile, and give hugs and kisses — almost as well as arms, hands and lips can.
It may be short, but it will also be more intense and sweeter, because we are reopening with a stockpile of pent-up love. We’ve had to adapt and reinvent ourselves, and we’re grateful for what we have learnt, as we are convinced that many of the new measures will actually result in improvement, and that much of the protocol being put in place will become normal behaviour, in both professional and personal life.
Our breakfast is still amazing, but more customised and relaxed than ever before, and the same is true of our organised activities, including yoga classes and aquagym, but with even more attention paid to hygiene. Likewise, our walks around the estate, which is greener and more vibrant than ever, and our excursion along the Camí de Cavalls, on which you can breathe in the purest air while you explore one of the prettiest stretches of Menorca’s coastline.
In our restaurant, you’ll still hear glasses clicking together in a toast, we’ll still enjoy the sight of the porch curtains fluttering in the gentle breeze from La Mola, and the same magic will still waft around the terrace when we light the candles at sunset.
And so, amid a frenzy of plans and adjustments, we welcome a 2020 season which is certainly going to be hard to forget.
Welcome!”
