We barely cannot believe that the 2019 season has passed, the year in which we also celebrate our 15th birthday in style. This was without any doubt THE EVENT of the season, and if you could not make it to be there with us, we’ll do our best to explain you how was it:
On the island of Menorca, on August 14 will not only be remembered by the magical Perseids that decorated that night sky, but for the II edition of the fun Bini Night party. That night it was someting fresh, and the atmosphere was relaxed, summery and very Mediterranean. It smelled of sea and saltpeter, salt and fish, pine and olive. We were 250 people from here and there gathered to dance for one more, and even the sheep that graze around were with their ears on so they didn't miss not even a single detail.
Live music sounded, the decoration delighted the most demanding and a group of boys and girls played happily in a space prepared with great care. The truth is that they were the kings of the night: they had caregivers and special menu, and we saw them enjoying the event as much as the elders.
It was the second time we organized this “sarao” in Sant Joan de Binissaida, and what a success! Tickets to enjoy the culinary experience of Ses Forquilles were sold out quite a few days prior the event. It was a great job to organize the party, and we really enjoyed the 12 dishes that our chefs prepared for the attendees’ delight.
The food really tasted like Binissaida, and that’s because the food we used, it had been produced on our farm. Each one came from a different corner of the house: Ses Oliveres, S’hort, Es Galliner, Sa Cala de Sant Esteve, S’Estable and Sa Cuina. After dessert, we set up a cocktail bar by the pool, where many of us went to taste the delicacies of long-drinks & cocktails masters in the rain of summer stars.
The attendees were also lucky to taste the three olive oil (A.O.V.E. for the Spanish acronym) varieties we produce at the estate, and they all returned home with a small bottle as a gift. Thus, they would remember the beautiful night they had while they splashed oil on breakfast toast. Do you know that this has been the first season we have sold our own olive oil? Well yes, and run out stocks, so we could not be happier! Now, in October we start harvesting new year’s production.
Did you know that Sant Joan de Binissaida was already mentioned in the first documents of King Jaime II shortly after the Catalan conquest of Menorca in 1287? Therefore, we should toast for many more years in this Mediterranean jewel, now converted into an accommodation for the curious who want to explore Menorca’s true essence, where we offer the best service, spectacular cuisine and we are committed to sustainable tourism and slow travel.
Anyway, the Bini Night was incredible, but it has not been the only great experience we have lived this year: thanks to our super team specialized in creating unforgettable events, we celebrated birthdays, fairytales weddings, christenings, communions, and private parties of any kinds. We have also hosted corporate events: in this environment away from everything, ideas flow and are enhanced in an incredible way.
In the end, our particular Menorcan corner works like the perfect place to meet with anyone you want and forget about the outside world, disconnect to reconnect from the root and spend a day that you will surely always remember with love. In addition, as you can rent the entire hotel and enjoy different spaces, each one can be adapted according to needs.
Last but not least, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been part of Sant Joan de Binissaida during 2019: to all the staff for your effort and dedication, thanks for doing magic in the dining-room, at reception, with maintenance, in agricultural areas, with the housekeeping, at events, etc. Thanks to the musicians who delighted us on summer nights, and to the restaurant for the wonderful menu with which they make our mouths water every day and night. Without you, none of this would have worked out so well.
On the other hand, thanks to all who have trusted us for any kind of celebration: it has been a pleasure to be part of your calendar of parties and photo albums. In addition, thanks to all the guests who have overnight in our rural house, definitely the new rooms have been a success. Our house is your home, and we love talking with you after your stay and see that you are very happy after your time here.
