We can't believe that the 2019 season has already passed, a year in which we also celebrated our 15th birthday in style. This was undoubtedly the event of the season, and in case you weren't there, we want to tell you everything in the best way we know how:
On the island of Menorca, the past August 14 will not only be remembered for the magical Perseids that decorated that night sky, but also for the second edition of the fun Bini Night party. That night was a bit cool, and the atmosphere was relaxed, summery, and very Mediterranean. It smelled of sea and salt, of salt and fish, of pine, olive tree, and especially of olive. We were 250 people from here and there gathered to dance for one more, and even the sheep grazing nearby had their ears perked to catch every detail.
Live music was playing, the decoration delighted even the most discerning, and a group of boys and girls joyfully played in a space lovingly prepared for them. The truth is that they were the kings of the night: they had caregivers and a special menu, and we saw them enjoying the event just as much as the adults.
This was the second time we organized this bash in Sant Joan de Binissaida, and what a success it was! The tickets to enjoy the gastronomic experience of the masters Ses Forquilles sold out days before the event. It was a huge task to organize the party, but we thoroughly enjoyed the 12 dishes our chefs prepared for the delight of all attendees.
The food truly tasted like Binissaida, as the ingredients used had been produced on our farm. Each one came from a different corner of the house: Ses Oliveres, S’hort, Es Galliner, Sa Cala de Sant Esteve, S’Estable, and Sa Cuina. After dessert, we set up a cocktail bar by the pool, where many came to try the delicacies from experts in mixed drinks under the summer starry sky.
Attendees were also lucky enough to sample the three varieties of oil that we produce on the farm, and everyone went home with a little bottle as a gift. This way, they would remember the lovely night they had while drizzling some oil on their breakfast toast. Did you know that this has been the first season of our own oil sales? Yes, and we've sold out our production, so we couldn't be happier. Now in October, we will begin harvesting olives for next year's production.
Did you know that Sant Joan de Binissaida is already mentioned in the earliest documents of Jaime II shortly after the Catalan conquest of Menorca in 1287? It really has history! That’s why we toast to many more years in this Mediterranean gem, now turned into a stay for curious travelers who want to explore the true essence of Menorca, where we offer the best service, spectacular gastronomy, and we advocate for sustainable tourism and slow travel.
In short, Bini Night was incredible, but it wasn’t the only great experience we’ve had this year: thanks to our super team specialized in creating unforgettable events, we celebrated birthdays, fairy tale weddings, baptisms, communions, and private parties of all kinds. We have also hosted corporate events: in this environment away from it all, ideas flow and are enhanced in an incredible way.
In the end, our little Menorcan corner works wonders for meeting with whomever you want and forgetting about the outside world, disconnecting to reconnect from the root, and spending a day that you will surely always remember with much affection. Additionally, since you can rent the entire hotel and enjoy different spaces, it can be adapted according to needs.
Last but not least, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of Sant Joan de Binissaida during 2019: to all the staff for your effort and dedication, thank you for creating magic in the hall, at reception, with maintenance, in the agricultural areas, with cleaning, at events, etc. Thanks to the musicians who delighted us on summer nights, and to the restaurant for the wonderful menu that makes our mouths water every day and night. Without you, none of this would have turned out so well.
On the other hand, thank you to everyone who has trusted us for any type of celebration: it has been a pleasure to be part of your party calendar and photo albums. Also, thanks to all the guests who have spent a night at our farm, as the new rooms have been a complete success. Our house is your house, and we love to speak with you post-stay and see that you leave very happy after your time here.
