We recover our roots
Binissaida was born with the intention of recovering the unique value of a traditional estate in Menorca. We wanted to reclaim the spaces, but also their meaning as a productive unit integrated into the environment, with ecological and sustainability criteria.
The Main House dates back to the 18th century, reflecting the economic expansion of the time. What remains from it is the general structure of the building and some remnants. Since 1994, when we acquired it, we have made five major renovations to consolidate, repair, and transform it into what we know today.
The roots of the estate of Sant Joan de Binissaida date back to before the Catalan conquest of the island in the 13th century. The name of the ancient cavalry of Binissaida (of the sons of Said) denotes its Arab origins and, in the early 14th century, it already appears in several documents. Eight centuries of history that will now also be part of your own.

In Binissaida, we have been certified as a Biosphere Reserve as an ecological and sustainable destination since 2022.
Energy
We have a photovoltaic power plant that produces electrical energy.
The lights indicating the outdoor paths are powered by solar energy.
The main house is equipped with a photovoltaic boiler system for hot water production.
Water Saving
The new bathrooms are equipped with a water control and saving system.
In 2017, a green filter was created following the guidelines of the GOB, a non-profit environmental association in the Balearic Islands, which reuses rejected water for irrigation of the estate.
Recycling
We promote recycling by providing guests with containers for paper, plastic, and glass.
