The Binissaida plantation, also open in winter

11.10.2024 - Binissaida

Although our agrotourism closes its doors in October for staff rest, the truth is that there is a part of our project that never rests. Visits to the plantation are a good way to get to know us, and in this post, we will tell you how.

Plantation Calendar

During this winter, we offer you the opportunity to visit the olive plantation of Sant Joan de Binissaida, from which we harvest olives in autumn to produce our oil. The good news is that this year, we will be able to market it for the first time under the Protected Geographical Indication "Oli de Menorca," which has been granted to the oil production of the island. Additionally, this PGI has the distinction of being the first organic one awarded in Europe, which gives an idea of the production methods for oil both in Sant Joan de Binissaida and in the rest of the producing estates.

For this winter, we have established the following visit schedule for the estate:

- November 2, taking advantage of the bridge of November 1
- December 7, during the holidays for the Constitution
- March 1, already touching on spring, and taking advantage of the Day of the Balearic Islands

What the visit includes

With the visit to the plantation, you will be able to see, in addition to the plantation itself, how we manage it and some curiosities, the oil mill, where we produce the organic oil of Sant Joan de Binissaida.

After the short tour of the plantation, during which we will also share some details about the estate and the characteristic ethnology of Menorca, we will have an oil tasting. No prior experience is needed for tastings, but we will teach you the basic fundamentals to appreciate the organoleptic details of our oil.

But humans do not live on oil alone, especially not in Menorca. That’s why we offer you a tasting of local products, including cheese and other delicacies made by collaborating estates.

What you need to do to sign up
