27.07.2023 - Binissaida
The Valencian author has presented his latest publication in Sant Joan de Binissaida, in a setting that served, in part, as inspiration for his novel.
The gardens of Sant Joan de Binissaida have been the chosen setting by the author Jesús Terrés to present his novel Buscaba la belleza. Terrés, a client and friend of Sant Joan de Binissaida, wanted to give back a piece of that beauty he seeks in this book, published by the editorial Destino.
Buscaba la belleza is a delicate novel with strong biographical roots that starts from two traumatic events in the author's life: the death of his father and the abortion of a child, separated by twenty years. An emotional journey in which Jesús Terrés raises themes such as non-fatherhood, grief, love, and the search for happiness in an uncertain world. From the child that will never be, Jesús makes peace with his past and distances himself from the mantra that has guided him since his father's death: "forget to be happy," because he understands that suffering is part of existence and that there cannot be beauty without pain. A novel that seeks to dissect a generation of adults who ask: was this living?
Despite having already been presented publicly in various cities in Spain, Terrés wanted to dedicate space to the readers of Menorca to present this latest work, which has been covered by media such as La Vanguardia, Condé Nast Traveler, La voz de Galicia, Diario de León, and RTVE.
